DC TIG Process Notice: The TIG200P is a DC TIG welder designed for suitable metals such as stainless steel and mild steel. It does not provide the AC output normally used for conventional TIG welding of aluminum.

Compatibility: Intended for the ARCCAPTAIN TIG200P foot-control connection. Use only with TIG modes that support remote amperage control and follow the TIG200P manual.
Blue Tungsten Electrodes — 2.4 mm (3/32 in)

Keep Replacement Tungsten Available

Keep additional blue-coded lanthanated tungsten available for compatible DC TIG work when an electrode needs sharpening or replacement.

Use Condition: Confirm the 2.4 mm electrode matches the selected collet and torch setup, then prepare the tip for the required DC TIG application.

Best-Fit Applications

  • Stainless Steel Bench Fabrication: Brackets, frames and shop-fabricated parts where foot control supports in-process heat adjustment.
  • Thin Or Heat-Sensitive Joints: Work that benefits from reducing current as the material and joint warm up.
  • Repeated TIG Shop Work: Projects that benefit from spare tungsten and compatible WP-26 wear parts being kept nearby.
  • General Steel Repairs: Suitable mild-steel TIG work with correctly matched filler metal, or Stick repairs with separately purchased coated electrodes.

How To Use The Kit

  1. Identify the stainless steel grade or other base metal and select compatible filler metal, tungsten preparation and welding parameters.
  2. With input power disconnected, connect the supplied TIG torch, work clamp, gas system and compatible foot pedal according to the TIG200P manual.
  3. Install the 2.4 mm tungsten only with a matching collet and compatible torch components. Use parts from the 71-piece kit only when they match the selected setup.
  4. Connect the welder to a compatible 110V or 220V power supply that meets the manual’s circuit requirements.
  5. Select a TIG mode that supports foot-pedal amperage control, set the gas flow and welding parameters, and test the setup on matching scrap.
  6. Use pedal travel to adjust current while maintaining torch angle and filler-metal control. For Stick welding, follow the manual and disconnect or disregard the TIG pedal as directed.

Additional Equipment And PPE Required

For TIG welding: A filled 100% argon cylinder, compatible regulator or flowmeter, correctly matched stainless steel filler metal as required, and a suitable electrical connection are needed unless specifically listed with the welder’s standard accessories.

For Stick welding: Compatible coated electrodes are required. The TIG foot pedal is not used for Stick welding.

Safety: Wear the included gloves together with a properly rated welding helmet, flame-resistant protective clothing and all other task-appropriate PPE. Follow the operator’s manual and applicable workplace safety requirements.
